Not all ADEL users will be linked to a Power User accounts. Linking will depend on the role, country, sport, and sport level selected in your ADEL account profile when you register. It also depends on which organizations have decided to become Power Users in ADEL.
Accounts are linked to Power Users to help the organizations that Power Users work for fulfill their anti-doping education responsibilities under the World Anti-Doping Code and the International Standard for Education. See Why are Power Users important to ADEL? for details.
The general rules to link an account to a Power User are summarized below. A detailed table that breaks down account linking based on user role and level follows. You can also access the full list of organizations who have a Power User account or request a list of specific Power Users linked to your account at any time via the ADEL Helpdesk.
Overview of account linking to Power Users based on Power User type
- National anti-doping organizations (NADOs) can be the Power User for users that are tied to the country for which the NADO is responsible AND have a specific user role and level.
- International Federations (IFs) can be the Power User for users that are that are tied to the sport for which the IF is responsible AND have a specific user role and level.
- Major event organizations (MEOs) can be linked to users who enroll in a learning activity tied to an event the MEO is responsible for, but only with respect to that specific learning activity and for a limited time.
- Delegated Third Parties (DTPs) will be linked to users based on the NADO, IF, or MEO they are acting on behalf of (e.g. a DTP acting on behalf of a NADO will take the NADO’s place as Power User for users that are tied to the NADO country and have a specific user role and level).
- Other types of organizations that are not NADOs, IFs, MEOs or DTPs who demonstrate a need to use ADEL to deliver anti-doping education can be given a Power User account upon request to WADA. WADA will determine what user accounts this type of organization will be linked to on a case-by-case basis. See the Power User List for details.

*DTPs and MEOs are not represented in the Power User Types in this table because:
- DTPs are linked to users based on the NADO, IF or MEO they are acting on behalf of (e.g. a DTP acting on behalf of a NADO will take the NADO’s place as Power User for the NADO country).
- MEOs are linked to users based on a learning resource, not the user role.
See Power User List for details on DTP and MEO Power User rights.
